The basic documents required for applying LTC are as below:
1. LTC application form with photocopies of the Tickets (Air/ Train) taken for the travel - To be filled by the central government servant specifying the place of visit, mode of travel with distance and the Single Fare for the entire journey.
2. EL application form to the SPOs/SSPOs concerned.
Note: 1. The government servant must possess 30 days EL on hand excluding those availed for encashment and availed for the tour.
2. If both husband and wife are central government employees then LTC can be availed w.r.t either Husband or wife and never both at a time.
3. A separate application form for EL encashment must be given to the pay disbursing officer for approval.
On processing the advance, 90 % of the Eligible Ticket Advance will be given to the official along with 10 days EL cash for the journey.
Few Other information:
If the official goes to tour at various places within India by booking through package, the LTC claims are restricted only to the Travel cost that is allowed for the cadre of that official concerned. It means neither the Room cost nor the Package cost /Taxi Fare are allowed.
In case if the official takes flight in his/her travel to specified destinations,(either Non Entitled official/ Entitled official) the AIR INDIA flight within LTC 80 fare is allowed. However this is under reconsideration under NDA Government for allowing the Flight for officials other than AIR INDIA in case the fare gets lower. (Typical Government statement which always states "Whichever is lower" in case of Expenditure)
For non Entitled officials, the tour destinations covered under LTC rules includes Andaman & Nicobar Islands - PORT BLAIR, North Eastern States, Srinagar - Jammu & Kashmir. These destinations are valid till September 25th 2016 as per the OM.
Hope this information will be useful for people in idea to get LTC from DOP.
